About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Drug misuse.

    Issued 28 August 2025

    Action taken:

Following community feedback, we will focus over the forthcoming three months to reduce the prevalence and impact of drug misuse within the community by disrupting illegal activity, supporting vulnerable individuals, and improving public safety through enforcement, education, and partnership working.

  • Priority:

Continued focus on drug misuse and its effects

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Over the next three months, we’re prioritising action on drug misuse and the harm it causes in our community. This includes tackling drug-related crime, dealing with hotspots where misuse leads to anti-social behaviour, and addressing the wider impact on safety and wellbeing. You’ll see more high-visibility patrols, targeted operations, and enforcement against those involved in drug supply and misuse. We’ll also work in partnership with local authorities, health services, and community organisations to reduce harm, support vulnerable individuals, and keep our streets safe for everyone.

  • Priority:

    Anti social use of vehicles

    Issued 28 February 2026

    Action taken:

Over the next three months, the neighbourhood policing team will focus on tackling issues of inconsiderate parking and speeding, which the community has highlighted as key concerns. We will target areas where obstructive parking and excessive speeds are creating safety risks and reducing residents’ quality of life, using visible patrols, targeted enforcement and community intelligence to identify offenders, improve road safety and restore confidence in the affected locations.
