Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles and off-road bikes.

    Issued 05 June 2026

    Action taken:

Working with partners such as housing, we are collating details of bikes and descriptions of offenders. Through the use of CCTV, drones and fixed wing aircraft in conjunction with our road crime officers to track and locate offending bikes and offenders, a number of vehicle seizures and prosecutions have been made. We are continuing to use anti-social behaviour legislation to seize and destroy bikes as well as issuing Community Protection Warnings/Notices to tackle repeat offenders. This work is ongoing.

Monitoring and patrols continue throughout the summer in areas where this activity is known.

    Actioned 05 June 2026

  • Priority:

Theft of mopeds and motorbikes parked outside or left insecure. Offenders are travelling around the city, crossing force areas to commit thefts and using balaclava's and cloned places to try and prevent identification.

    Issued 05 June 2026

    Action taken:

Due to the frequency and location of thefts across Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent, dedicated officers are collating, managing and processing the intelligence and incidents as they are reported and coordinating proactive activity to prevent further offending and locate offenders. Analytics, CCTV, forensics and intelligence are being used to link and trace stolen/recovered bikes to offenders with a view to arrest and prosecute.

    Actioned 05 June 2025

  • Priority:

Concerns raised around drug dealing/Drug use and associated Crime/ASB in the area.

    Issued 02 March 2026

    Action taken:

Both high visibility and plain officers operate in this area to provide a visible presence a proactive policing. Officers will continue to target identified areas and suspects as identified via crime trends and patterns and intelligence. The public are encouraged to report any signs of drug dealing.

    Actioned 02 June 2026

  • Priority:

Concerns have been raised around both Residential and Commercial Burglary.

    Issued 02 December 2025

    Action taken:

High Visibility and Plain Clothes officers patrol in identified hotspot areas. Engagement with local business, use of CCTV, intelligence led Stop and Search and Warrants to search addresses used to tackle offending.
Members of public are encouraged to report any activity or information relating to Burglary or Stolen property. This can be done anonymously via the Crimestoppers website. Any reports of Burglary will be reviewed on a daily basis ensuring response from an officer, forensic consideration and scene enquiries are completed as soon as possible.

    Actioned 02 June 2026

  • Priority:

Shoplifting and anti-social behaviour (ASB) affecting businesses.

    Issued 09 June 2026

    Action taken:

Repeat offenders are being targeted. 'Hot Spot' policing patrols continue, consisting of high visibility and plain clothes officers.
Joint working with retail businesses continue to identify target hardening opportunities and bringing offenders to justice.
