About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-social vehicle use including nuisance driving and dangerous use of vehicles that cause harm, fear, or disruption in public spaces.

    Issued 28 August 2025

    Action taken:

Over the next three months, we will be increasing patrols in known hotspots for car meets, off-road biking, and street racing. We will use powers under the Road Traffic Act and Anti-Social Behaviour legislation to seize vehicles, issue penalties, and disperse gatherings.

  • Priority:

    Anti social use of vehicles

    Issued 30 November 2025

    Action taken:

Over the next three months, we’re prioritising action on nuisance parking and the problems it causes in our community. This includes tackling vehicles causing obstruction, blocking driveways, and creating hazards for pedestrians and other road users. You’ll see more high-visibility patrols in hotspot areas, targeted checks on illegally parked vehicles, and enforcement against those breaking the law. We’ll also work in partnership with local authorities to keep our streets clear, safe, and accessible for everyone.

  • Priority:

    Anti-social use of vehicles

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Over the next three months, the neighbourhood policing team will focus on tackling issues of inconsiderate parking and speeding, which the community has highlighted as key concerns. We will target areas where obstructive parking and excessive speeds are creating safety risks and reducing residents’ quality of life, using visible patrols, targeted enforcement and community intelligence to identify offenders, improve road safety and restore confidence in the affected locations.
