About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Patrols increased in the area and reassurance has been provided to local businesses impacted by ASB. They have been encouraged to report all issues to police.

    Parking Concerns - Edwardsville Primary School

    Issued 08 March 2026

    Action taken:

    A joint parking operation with Council enforcement officers was conducted in the area particularly Edwardsville primary school. It was a successful operation and there have been no further calls since. A total of 26 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued throughout Treharris and Trelewis during this operation. Local PCSO’s will continue to monitor the ongoing parking issues around the Treharris area and further parking operations to be considered if matter persist.

    We have carried out high-visibility patrols in identified area and have submitted ASB referrals where necessary. The local community do still feel that this is still a priority area however and so we will continue with this priority for the foreseeable future.

    Action taken:

    High-visibility patrols have been completed, alongside school awareness sessions and engagement with residents and parents. ASB referrals have been made for those identified, and a SWL message issued to encourage continued community reporting.

    We’ve increased patrols around the location and have engaged with several drivers about unsafe pavement and bend-side parking. Advisory notices have been issued, and further action will follow where necessary. We’ll continue monitoring to keep access clear for all road users, especially those with mobility needs.
