About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Shoplifting at Cardiff Gate Services

    Issued 10 March 2026

    Action taken:

    Two prolific shoplifters have been arrested, charged, and remanded. A Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) has also been secured against one offender upon release.
    CBOs are often used against persistent offenders and designed to prevent individuals from engaging in further ASB and criminal behaviour. These orders contain requirements and prohibitions from entering defined areas. Breaching a CBO is a criminal offence.
    As a result of this activity, this is no longer a priority in the area.

    Action taken:

    This is no longer a priority as the number of burglaries reported has reduced significantly. Previously the burglaries that were reported related to building sites on the new St Edeyrns Estate.

    This issue has also reduced as warnings have been given to riders and their parents. Therefore, this is no longer a priority.

    This is no longer a priority as the amount of vehicle crimes has also reduced. Llanedeyrn NPT have continued to implement our Vehicle Crime Action Plan when responding to any vehicle crimes to ensure all lines of enquiry are followed up and positive action taken against any offenders that ae identified.
