About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Operation Clutch led to several bikes being seized resulting a decrease in calls received around Off Road Bikes.

    Two drugs warrants were conducted at Second Avenue leading to 4 arrests with 1 male being charged for supply of Class A Drugs and subsequently sent to prison.

    We have carried out High Visibility patrols in the areas of concern. We have also liased with the local councillors to request that their wardens attend the affected area.

    We’ve worked with Merthyr Council, local CCTV and several housing providers to tackle antisocial behaviour, carrying out patrols to identify those involved.
