About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

City North Strategic Priorities: October 2026 to December 2026 inclusive
Our partners have assisted us in reinforcing our Local Policing Priorities that effect and concern the community. These priorities do not replace those agreed at the NAT meetings, nor those defined through the respect survey, in fact this reinforces and compliments them.
Every three months sees a renewing of the three priorities we should have each quarter, we have focussed on what matters to our communities, we agreed to set and review the top 3 main priorities. The meeting to discuss these priorities is held every 3 months, and is attended by Local Neighbourhood Safety officers, Police, Nottingham City Council Anti-Social Behaviour Principle officer, also the Community Protection Team, to look at data provided by the Nottinghamshire Police Crime Commissioners Office, following perception surveys they conduct of the area around gaining local community concerns.
I have purposely and holistically looked to include those priorities concerning our community, these do NOT detract from other priorities such as, Auto crime, speeding, Thefts and several others including nuisance and littering.
We discuss, local community feedback provided to us by the Neighbourhood Development officers, which allows us to be more informed.
In the meeting held on the 30th of September 2026 the priorities were set for the period of October to December 2026:
    1.Drugs offences (supply and possession)
2.Antisocial Behaviour (including criminal damage and arson)
    3.Retail Crime

    Issued 30 September 2026

    Action taken:

The work done earlier in the year to tackle issues of antisocial behaviour around Southglade Park and Leisure Centre continues. We continue to monitor the 35 individuals who were issued with warning letters and those who were subject to joint visits with City Council Housing officers to ensure they are continuing to maintain an improved standard of behaviour.
Following on from the success of the previous football engagement event at the location another is now planned for late October, this will be run in partnership with FSM and Notts County Foundation. Notts Fire and Rescue will also be supporting the October event.

Drugs warrants were executed at 2 addresses linked to the supply of drugs in the City North Area in late September 2026 and others are planned for October in our ongoing efforts to tackle the supply of drugs.

In relation to retail crime officers investigated 77 shop theft offences in the last month and charged individuals for 13 offences. We will be monitoring offences in the coming months when the offence of 'assaulting a retail worker' comes into effect as a result of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 – to ensure positive action is taken to protect retail workers.
