About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Shoplifting

    Issued 23 April 2026

    Action taken:

Our officers are targeting known offenders/nominals and supporting repeat victims with crime prevention advice and reassurance. Civil orders are being used against prolific offenders.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Shoplifting

    Issued 28 January 2026

    Action taken:

We are proactively targeting known offenders while providing residents with tailored crime-prevention advice. Local neighbourhood officers are taking ownership of repeat offender management, adopting a problem-solving approach to reduce offending and support community safety.
For those who persist in committing crime or antisocial behaviour, we will seek Criminal Behaviour Orders to provide a stronger, long-term deterrent and help protect the community.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Motorbike Anti-Social Behaviour

    Issued 28 January 2026

    Action taken:

We are carrying out a series of targeted Days of Action, with further dates already planned. These operations are conducted in partnership with a range of local agencies. Officers in plain clothes, along with police drone support, are being deployed to identify and apprehend offenders.
We will continue to take robust enforcement action, including the seizure of motorcycles, issuing of warning notices, and prosecutions for driving offences. We are also working closely with Gentoo and the Local Authority to use civil orders where appropriate to tackle persistent antisocial behaviour.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour

    Issued 28 January 2026

    Action taken:

The neighbourhood team continues to carry out increased patrols across the area to deter antisocial behaviour and provide reassurance to residents. We are actively identifying offenders and working closely with housing providers, anti-social behaviour enforcement officers and tenancy teams to address and reduce repeat offending.
We also meet regularly with residents and local councillors to ensure we are listening to community concerns and gathering valuable intelligence to support ongoing problem-solving work.

    Actioned 30 September 2026
