Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Tackling retail and business crime in Blyth Town Centre

    Issued 23 March 2026

    Action taken:

The Blyth team are working closely with local businesses and partner agencies to reduce retail and business crime. By sharing intelligence and targeting persistent offenders, we’re taking proactive steps to prevent harm, including the use of police powers and Criminal Behaviour Orders. We’re also supporting long-term solutions by addressing the root causes of offending with partners. In addition, the Neighbourhood Inspector and the Crime Prevention Officer have delivered bespoke training to local business owners.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour at Mermaid Car Park, South Beach.

    Issued 23 March 2026

    Action taken:

We have received a significant number of reports of anti-social behaviour by people driving vehicles in an anti social manner, littering and noise complaints. We will be delivering a targeted plan of action to tackle the issue.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Motorcycle anti-social behaviour

    Issued 23 March 2026

    Action taken:

Motorcycle disorder remains a key focus. We work in partnership to deliver operations in hotspot areas, conduct joint visits, and issue Sec 59 warnings. We uplift vehicles using Section 165 powers where appropriate. Housing enforcement visits are carried out with partners to ensure a coordinated response.
