About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    • ASB motorcycle nuisance
    • Drug dealing and misuse
    • Road safety and traffic offences

    Action taken:

    ASB motorcycle nuisance
    • We continue to run Operation Pacify which is the operation to tackle the anti-social use of motorcycles, and we’ve responded to 17 incidents in the three months from October to December.
    • Multiple postal charges for road traffic offences have been issued, with further investigations completed relating to motorcycle nuisance.

    Drug dealing and drug misuse
    • 10 stop searches have been carried out relating to drugs.
    • Six arrests made for drug related offences as a result of information supplied by the public.
    • Two summons issued relating to drugs supply, with multiple cases opened for further investigation
    • Regular checks carried out at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to being exploited by drug dealers (cuckooing).

    Road safety and road traffic offences
    • School parking patrols have been carried out.
    • 24 people have been reported for summons relating to road traffic offences.
    • Six investigations have been opened and remain active.
    • 16 people have been arrested and charged with drink or drug drive impairment offences.

    Action taken:

    • We continue to run Operation Pacify which is the operation to tackle the anti-social nuisance of motorcycles. Over this period, officers have completed follow up calls to multiple incidents to ensure we have the best information available.
    • Multiple postal charges for road traffic offences have been issued.

    Action taken:

    • Officers have used stop and search powers on 28 occasions.
    • 21 arrests have been made for drug related offences as a result of information supplied by the public.
    • Officers have secured eight out of court resolutions relating to drug possession.
    • Five people have been charged or reported for summons relating to drugs supply, with multiple cases opened for further investigation.
    • The team carried out regular checks at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to exploitation by drug dealers (known as cuckooing).

    Action taken:

    • Working alongside our council and education partners across the area, we’ve also continued patrols outside local schools in response to parking issues.
    • 41 people have been reported for summons relating to road traffic offences.
    • 23 people have been arrested and charged with drink or drug drive impairment offences.
    • 12 people have been charged and disqualified from driving.
    • Multiple investigations have been opened and remain active.
