About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Action taken:

    East NPT are completing Super-cocooning following reports of a residential burglary to enhance detection rates and provide crime prevention/target hardening advice.

    Op Pendulum - Targeted patrols and activity around the Anti-social and criminal use of Sur-Ron and modified electric bikes.

    Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) - ASB in the Derwenthorpe area and around the University of York (UoY) Campus.

    Action taken:

    East NPT have two live problem solving occurrences for the University of York (Op Syndicate) and Derwenthorpe (Op Unity).

    Engagement through Op Unity has reduced the ASB in the Derwenthorpe area by half over May to July.

    Ongoing work with the UoY regarding an increase in ASB, Criminal Damage and other offences on campus.

    County Line and Drug Dealing

    Action taken:

    Pro-active patrols around Fourth Avenue resulted in community intelligence around dealing in the area. Increase patrols following reports of dealing around Cornetto Court, Regent Street.
