    Actioned 26 July 2026

  • Priority:

Tourism Issue Tourism issues at local Beauty Spots

    Issued 10 July 2026

    Action taken:

In warmer weather the large number of visitors to the area is putting a strain on the existing infrastructure and impacting on local communities at our rivers and beauty spots with issues such as water safety, fire safety around BBQ’s, illegal / inconsiderate parking, littering and anti-social behaviour.

Our Public Safety and Neighbourhood Teams are holding regular multi-agency meetings involving Parking Enforcement Services, Highways, Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Craven Community Partnership Safety Hub and Public Safety Services to coordinate a joint response and increase high visibility patrols.during peak periods, bringing together Police Officers, PCSOs, Public safety officers, Park Rangers and Parking Enforcement Teams.

The partnership approach will continue, with a further meeting planned involving a wider group of stakeholders. This will be followed by engagement and consultation with local parish councils to identify longer-term solutions that balance the needs of residents, visitors, and the environment.

  • Priority:

    Anti-social use of E- Bikes.

    Issued 26 July 2026

    Action taken:

There has been a national and local increase in concern around anti-social use of E- Bikes and their associated safety and criminal issues.

Through high visibility patrols and intelligence work our Public Safety Teams have seized two illegal E-bikes. Through education at schools we are hoping to reduce their purchase and misuse.

    Actioned 26 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Cross-border crime

    Issued 26 July 2026

    Action taken:

Previously there have been burglaries of sheds, garages and outbuildings at residential properties across the Craven District, particularly near our borders of West Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria. Farming equipment, tools, vehicles, motorbikes and pedal cycles, including e-bikes are being targeted.

These offences have greatly reduced, but still occasionally happen.
We are still focusing our attention on the area providing high visibility and plain clothed patrols, offering crime prevention advice such as, ensuring properties and vehicle are secure - PLEASE LOCK YOUR DOORS - feel free to contact us for prevention advice, or a visit to look at your security arrangements.
