About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Violence against women and girls in and around Whitton High Street. Agreed at Police Liaison Group community meeting on 11/09/2025.

    Issued 04 March 2026

    Action taken:

Ward Officers have conducted regular targeted patrols across our community and have concentrated these patrols in the evenings and later-on, when women and girls have often reported feeling most vulnerable.
We have conducted "walk and Talks" involving female officers ‘buddying up’ with women from their communities to go out on patrol in open spaces, to discuss their experiences, concerns and reflections.
We have held numerous Awareness Stalls at several events across the community to offer advice and raise awareness on the issue of Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG).

    Actioned 04 March 2026

  • Priority:

ASB around Whitton High Street and parks & open spaces on the ward.

    Issued 04 March 2026

    Action taken:

Regular patrols are completed in and around our open spaces. We have identified peak times, increased patrols at these times and requested additional police resources when required. Anti-Social Behaviour warnings issued to offenders with legal notices to desist or be arrested issued to those found to be repeatedly causing Anti-Social Behaviour in our community.
We have conducted regular joint patrols with Richmond Council’s Park Guard officers to engage with those community members using our parks and open spaces and listen to their concerns. During these patrols we have conducted weapons sweeps and found and removed a number of discarded or hidden weapons from our community.

    Actioned 04 March 2026

  • Priority:

    Residential Burglary.

    Issued 04 March 2026

    Action taken:

We will continue to visit every burglary victim and make local enquiries to secure any available evidence. We will continue to offer crime prevention advice around this crime.

    Actioned 04 March 2026
