About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    S – Reduce violence related offences against women and girls
    M – VOLT & SARA analysis to be carried out, they can accurately show where offences have occurred. Gain support with partner agencies in the area and deliver awareness. Gain Intel packages on known offenders
    A – VAWG related events across the wards, crime prevention stands, Hi-Viz patrols, walk and talk, ask Angela in public houses, mobile patrols around transport hubs.
    R – Relevant There is a Met Initiative to build trust and confidence with women and girl across London There is a real potential for the loss of confidence between the police and the community and must be treated as a priority.
    T- To be reviewed at the next ward panel meeting.

    Patrols continue in the morning to target key areas and times that have been highlighted.

    1. Drugs and drugs related violence
    S: Low level cannabis smoking in Maxilla Park, Kensington Memorial Park
    M: A reduction in complaints by residents and ASB cads
    A: Plain clothes work in parks
    R: DWOs can utilise their stop and search powers in a proactive manner
    T: Achieved prior to next ward panel

    proactive patrols in areas that are most affected, including proactive stop and searches around Ladbroke Grove tube which has a high amount of drug use and ASB

    Drug and alcohol related crime and ASB
    2. Drug users opening taking class A drugs and street drinkers causing alarm and distress across the ward.
    S: During daylight hours and early evening each day
    M: A reduction in complaints by residents
    A: Proactive patrols in these specific locations (Malton Rd, Chesterton Road)
    R: DWOs are able to deal with this within their tours of duty
    T: Achieved prior to the next ward panel

    patrols being conducted around key hotspots and CPW/CPNs being given to offenders for ASB. This has included the area of Ladbroke Grove station as well as Oxford / Cambridge Gardens

    burglary
    S. To reduce the amount of burlgary on residential streets across the ward.

    M. SNT Analytics shows a large amount of burlgary happens in the North Kensington area. Overnight Crimes reveal a steady amount

    A. Though Plain Clothes operations and adjusting shifts to match the pattern of times these offences occur, officers can look to target those committing these crimes. Through the day local ward officers will conduct high vis patrols giving crime prevention around hotspot locations

    R. burglary appears to be an opportunistic crime on the ward

    T. To be reviewed at the next ward panel meeting, (Every three months).
