About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Violence Against Women and Girls - VAWG.

    Action taken:

    Team are carrying out numerous High-Visibility and Plain Clothes patrol in the area in an effort to combat this issues highlighted. Joint operations with immigration officers are also conducted of a frequent basis.

    Anti-social behaviour - The Old Diary Car Park.

    Action taken:

    Officers have been dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour , general Anti-Social Behaviour and drug related crime through joint work with Workman security on site at the location. Officers are implementing Anti-Social Behaviour warnings, PND's, Community resolutions and arresting and interviewing individuals where necessary. The team are pro-actively patrolling the location carrying out stop and search's where there are grounds to do so. The team have been in contact with the council who have proposed to install speed bumps & a round-about to prevent car meets in the very near future.

    Motor Vehicle crime - Royal crescent and surrounding streets, High value items targeted.

    Action taken:

    The team have been carrying out targeted foot and mobile patrols at the location and have also arranged and conducted street briefings to keep the local community better informed and provide them with crime prevention advice.

  • Priority:

    Shoplifting - Sainsbury's, Boots Pharmacy, Greggs, Asda and Tesco being targeted for shoplifting on the ward.

    Action taken:

    Pro-active Shoplifting Operations are now in place in order to identify prolific shoplifters attending the ward and committing offences. Once the offenders are identified, the team are doing their best to try arrest and secure Criminal Behaviour Orders to issue to the offenders at court so they are deterred from re-attending the stores. High Visibility Foot and Mobile patrols remain in place to provide reassurance and to deter shoplifting offences.
