About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Develop a robust partnership approach between policing and all local retailers to tackle and reduce retail crime.

    Action taken:

    Work in collaboration with local businesses to assist investigations, deliver effective crime prevention advice and foster a community in which staff members are safeguarded and protected.

    S – Perform targeted patrols and operation around retail crime.
    M- Measured through attendance and engagement with police, crime prevention programmes and other local businesses. Measured by crime statistics and offenders prosecuted
    A – Achievable through resources available – local team, support and co-deliverance with ward panel chair, linking in with Merton Chamber of Commerce.
    R – Relevant due to rise in retail crime both locally, and in line with both force and national priority.
    T – Forum will be developed over a longer period of time, but engagement with businesses means that the implementation should be relatively quick.

    ASB RAYNES PARK TOWN CENTRE
    Description - Concerns have been raised in regards to ASB occurring in and around RAYNES PARK TOWN CENTRE. Reports of youths causing issues in local businesses and also adults smoking cannabis. Also reports of dangerous cycling on footpaths and under the Raynes Park Tunnel. Due to these concerns we will focus on ASB in the Town Centre.

    Specific
    - Conducting targeted patrols in and around the Town Centre which will include a mixture of high visibility and plain clothed patrols.
    - The team will stop and engage with any individuals believed to be involved in any ASB or drug use in the area
    -The team will regularly visit affected businesses to provide reassurance.
    Measurable
    -Through reviewing crime reports made to police and results from actions taken by the team. Stops and searches where grounds exist.
    - Patrols and engagement events logged on PMP by team
    Achievable
    - Dedicated time for SNT officers
    - 2x PC and 1 x PCSO
    Relevant
    -Due to increase in youth ASB and community concerns being raised and reported
    Timely
    - Team will conduct overnight checks when on duty and will be reviewed in the next three months at the next ward panel meeting
    -Regular patrols of the development

    VAWG
    Description – Violence against Woman and Girls is a growing priority in the Met Police. This is due to growing concerns around woman and girls and their safety in London.

    - Conducting targeted patrols in and around Raynes Park Town Centre which will include a mixture of high visibility and plain clothed patrols.
    - The team will complete community engagements – including pop up stalls, Cuppa with a Coppa and attending local meetings.
    Measurable
    -Issues and engagements logged on MPS system – PMP
    -Message and updates on Met engage – using the system to send relevant alerts and messages to relay to residents.

    Achievable
    - Dedicated time for SNT officers
    - 2x PC and 1 x PCSO
    Relevant
    -Due to increase in concerns in safety of woman and girls.
    Timely
    - Team will conduct overnight checks when on duty and will be reviewed in the next three months at the next ward panel meeting
