About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    2) BURGLARY

    Marked & Unmarked Police patrols in Burglary hotspots to create a visible police presences to disrupt burglaries, and unmarked to detect crimes.

    Action taken:

    The team have been utilising local knowledge and intelligence to proactively patrol the ward throughout February and into the new year utilising overt and covert tactics. Further, crime prevention advice will be provided to residents around securing their properties over the festive period.

    3) MOTOR CRIME

    Increase visible Police patrols in high vehicle crime hotspots to detect and disrupt offenders. Using an intelligence lead approach to targeting offenders by using new tends to identify target vehicles and bringing offenders to justice.

    4) SHOPLIFTING
    Shoplifting is a borough-wide priority for Croydon

    Action taken:

    Plain clothes operations will take place in stores that experience a high level of shoplifting. Working with stores and security, planned operations will take place in order to catch shoplifters in the act and deal with them thorough the judicial process.

  • Priority:

    1) VIOLENCE AGAINST THE PERSON

    Violence against the person, patrol the ASB / ROBBERY hotspots to detect and disrupt criminal behavior, reassure public and create a visible presence.

    Action taken:

    The team continue to work in partnership with local councilors and local school staff to patrol the hotspot areas in and around Purley & Woodcote. This has provided good quality stop and searches, a targeted approach and intelligence lead tasks / stops. This has shown a reduction in ASB and Robberies in recent months.
