About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

There are ongoing issues with shoplifting and anti-social behaviour (ASB) at both Tesco and Asda within the Old Kent Road ward. This behaviour has a detrimental impact on staff, as well as on members of the public who witness these incidents. Additionally, there are concerns around persistent begging and thefts targeting cash points at these locations, which contribute to a negative and unsafe environment for the community.

    Issued 27 May 2026

    Action taken:

1/ Old Kent Road SNT will conduct high visibility patrols to deter ASB and criminality.
2/ We will work with offenders to prevent this behaviour.
3/ We will target persistent offenders to reduce shoplifting on the ward.

    Actioned 02 September 2026

  • Priority:

There are ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour and suspected drug use at Brimmington Park. During the summer months, loud music, parties, and barbecues occur regularly, which significantly disrupts nearby residents. Additionally, there are concerns regarding irresponsible dog ownership, with some individuals allowing their dogs to remain off-lead and out of control, posing a risk to others using the park.

    Issued 27 May 2026

    Action taken:

1/ Old Kent Road SNT will conduct high visibility patrols to deter ASB and criminality.
2/ Liaise with local authority to get more CCTV in the area.
3/ Work with dog owners to ensure that shared spaces can be enjoyed by everyone.

    Actioned 02 September 2026

  • Priority:

There has been a significant increase in anti-social behaviour (ASB) at Northfield House. This includes frequent loud parties and ongoing disturbances in the communal gardens late into the night, which are having a detrimental impact on residents’ quality of life. Additionally, issues such as street drinking and public urination are causing considerable distress and concern within the local community.

    Issued 27 May 2026

    Action taken:

1/ Meeting with Tenants Resident Association to brainstorm new ideas to prevent ASB from occurring
2/ Old Kent Road SNT will conduct high visibility patrols to deter ASB and criminality.
3/ Engagement with other agencies, including the local authority to prevent this activity from occurring.

    Actioned 02 September 2026
