Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

To reduce the robbery and snatches of mobile phones in Larkswood ward.

    Issued 10 June 2026

    Action taken:

Regular high‑visibility patrols are being conducted within the identified hotspot area to deter offending and provide community reassurance. Joint patrols are also taking place with the Local Authority Violence Reduction Officer, ensuring a coordinated approach to tackling the issues.
Crime prevention advice has been delivered to residents during these patrols, focusing on practical measures to reduce vulnerability and encourage reporting.
Additional resourcing has been secured from Specialist Taskforce Officers, who are supporting efforts to target priority nominals identified as being responsible for recent offences. Targeted enforcement activity is ongoing.
Specific bail conditions have been issued to offenders, restricting their associations, movements, and access to repeat locations, with the aim of preventing further offending and reducing community impact.

    Actioned 16 September 2026

  • Priority:

Burglary of residential properties in the central area of the ward.

    Issued 10 June 2026

Reassurance and crime prevention visits have been conducted with all victims, alongside CCTV enquiries to identify suspects and any vehicles used.
Officers have also completed door‑to‑door enquiries to gather further intelligence and identify potential witnesses.
Burglary remains a priority for the Safer Neighbourhoods policing team, and proactive enquiries are ongoing.

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour in open spaces and around Chingford Mount / Albert Crescent area.

    Issued 10 June 2026

    Action taken:

Police Operation – High Visibility Patrols and Partnership Activity
Police have conducted targeted high‑visibility patrols across Chingford Mount/ Albert Crescent E4 as identified for anti‑social behaviour. During these deployments, officers—working jointly with our Local Authority (LA) partners—have issued warnings to identified offenders.
We continue to maintain a visible presence in the area alongside LA colleagues. Several repeat offenders have now been formally warned, and we are utilising outreach and housing services for individuals requiring additional support to prevent further offending.
We hold monthly partnership meetings with the Local Authority to ensure information is shared effectively and that consistent action is taken against persistent offenders within the vicinity.

    Actioned 16 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Motor vehicle crime

    Issued 10 June 2026

    Action taken:

To reduce motor vehicle crime across the ward through targeted patrols, intelligence‑led deployments, and joint enforcement activity.
We conduct high‑visibility patrols in identified hotspots to deter theft of and theft from motor vehicles.
We carry out regular traffic stop sites with support from specialist Traffic Officers.
We have targeted known and prolific offenders through proactive patrols and partnership intelligence.
We continue to promote crime prevention advice to residents, including vehicle security and CCTV opportunities.
We work with Local Authority partners to address environmental factors contributing to offending (lighting, abandoned vehicles, signage).
