About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Youth related anti-social behaviour.

    Issued 14 May 2026

    Action taken:

Your team is actively tackling youth anti-social behaviour (ASB) through a preventative, partnership-led approach focused on early intervention.

    Working with schools:
Officers engage regularly with local schools to identify emerging issues, deliver inputs, and provide a visible presence. This helps build trust with young people, address behaviour early, and reinforce positive choices.

    Engaging parents and guardians:
The team works closely with families to raise awareness of ASB concerns, encourage responsible parenting, and support behaviour change at home. This includes direct communication, joint problem-solving, and signposting to additional support where needed.

    Early intervention and diversion:
By identifying at-risk young people early, the team aims to intervene before behaviours escalate, using education, guidance, and partnership support rather than enforcement wherever possible.

    Partnership working:
Collaboration with schools and parents ensures a consistent message is delivered, creating a joined-up approach to reducing ASB and safeguarding young people.

  • Priority:

    Theft from Motor Vehicle

    Issued 14 May 2026

    Action taken:

Theft from Motor Vehicle remains a prevalent crime type in the South of the Borough and it has been agreed to remain a priority.

To combat these issues, the team will analyse the data when offences are committed and dedicate our resources to these areas. We will analyse patterns of offending in order to catch and deter offenders. We will act on intelligence provided by our communities and partners. We will utilise our Met Engage contacts to conduct witness appeals post offences being committed and each victim of crime will receive a visit from the team. We will conduct door to door enquiries to look for further evidence of offences and when there are obvious patterns to offences, these areas will receive an enhanced policing presence.

  • Priority:

    Vehicular related anti-social behaviour

    Issued 14 May 2026

    Action taken:

Vehicular related anti-social behaviour is an often discussed subject and concern for local residents and it has been agreed to remain a priority.

To combat these issues, the team will analyse the data when offences are committed and dedicate our resources to these areas. We will analyse patterns of offending in order to catch and deter offenders. We will act on intelligence provided by our communities and partners. Regarding anti-social behaviour, we will utilise relevant legislation to enforce the law and deter those causing concern in the community. When the anti-social behaviour relates to vehicles, we will utilise our partners inside The Met to ensure we are supported in tackling these drivers.
