About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    1) VIOLENCE RELATED PRIORITY

    Proactive patrol on Kenley Ward to reduce/prevent crime's within the Ward. Patrol known hot spot areas on our Ward.
    Regular patrols at places known to us as ASB hot spots. GODSTONE RD, OLD LODGE LANE.
    Concerns were also raised by the community about Domestic abuse. In response officers will continue to raise awareness and publicity on help /support and reporting options in a focus on this aspect of the Violence Against the person priority

    Your SNT Team have been out patrolling the hotspot area's. Both on foot and mobile patrols. This has been posted out on recent Police social media. We will continue to support the ward.

    2) ASB

    Tackling and keeping on top of ASB in areas such as OLD LODGE LANE and GODSTONE ROAD during the summer months.

    Action taken:

    During the warmer weather, areas such as GODSTONE ROAD and OLD LODGE LANE experience ASB. The team will proactively patrol these areas utilising powers to kerb such behaviour.

    ASB / Community Protection Warnings will be issued to persistent offenders.

    Further, the team are working on a large number of ongoing neighbour disputes, which falls under anti-social behaviour.

    3) SPEEDING AND TRAFFIC OFFENCES

    Action taken:

    The team have been conducting speed enforcement around the ward. A number of tickets have already been given out and will continue to do so. Other traffic offences will also be targeted such as the use of mobile phones, no insurance and other moving traffic offences.

    4) SHOPLIFTING
    Shoplifting is a borough-wide priority for Croydon

    Action taken:

    Plain clothes operations will take place in stores that experience a high level of shoplifting. Working with stores and security, planned operations will take place in order to catch shoplifters in the act and deal with them thorough the judicial process.
