About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Theft

    Issued 09 June 2026

    Action taken:

The community has raised concerns regarding theft offences across the ward, including incidents affecting residents, visitors and local businesses.

We will use recorded crime data and intelligence to identify patterns and hotspot locations, directing proactive patrol activity to areas most affected. We will work with partner teams across the strand to develop targeted operations aimed at identifying prolific offenders, disrupting criminal activity and reducing opportunities for offending. The goal being to reduce offences and increase public confidence through visible and proactive policing.

We will also continue to engage with the community through local events and meetings, offering crime prevention advice and encouraging the reporting of offences to help inform policing activity.

  • Priority:

    Drugs

    Issued 09 June 2026

    Action taken:

The community continues to raise concerns about drug-related activity within the ward and the impact it has on local residents, businesses and public spaces.

We will use intelligence, community information and recorded incidents to identify hotspot locations and direct proactive patrol activity. We will work with partner agencies and specialist teams to carry out targeted operations aimed at disrupting drug-related offending and identifying those responsible. The goal being to reduce offending, improve public confidence and ensure public spaces remain safe and welcoming for all.

We will also continue to engage with residents and local stakeholders, encouraging the reporting of concerns and providing opportunities for the community to work alongside us in tackling issues affecting the ward.

    Actioned 09 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Anti-Social Behaviour

    Issued 09 June 2026

    Action taken:

Residents have raised ongoing concerns regarding anti-social behaviour in a number of locations across the ward, and the impact this can have on quality of life and feelings of safety.

We will use community feedback to identify recurring issues and direct proactive patrol activity to affected locations. We will work closely with partner agencies to identify long-term solutions, tackle persistent problem behaviour and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary. We will also continue to work alongside Community Safety Enforcement Officers (CSEOs) to manage and progress high-risk anti-social behaviour cases, ensuring concerns are addressed efficiently and that the most vulnerable members of our community are safeguarded. The goal being to improve public confidence and reduce the impact of anti-social behaviour on residents, businesses and visitors.

We will also continue to engage with the community, encouraging residents to report concerns and working together to identify opportunities for early intervention and prevention.
