About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Anti-social Behaviour linked to the use and selling of controlled substances, particularly around Marcus Garvey Mews, Dawson Heights and regualr shoplifters targeting shops on the ward.

    Action taken:

    Officers are working with housing officers, residents and local shop staff to get information / intelligence to support police action.

    These areas are being regularly patrolled and monitored.

    Concerns with Road Safety and theft of motor vehicles.

    Action taken:

    Officers are to utilise Speed Gun operations to enforce speeding, in identified hotspots, such as on Barry Road. Officers have identifed areas known for vehicle crime and stolen cars being abandoned, officers will continue to patrol areas known for vehicle crime.

  • Priority:

    Offences of shoplifting across Dulwich Hill Ward. Dealing with both those perpetrating offences within retail venues and those assisting them.

    Issued 14 January 2026

    Action taken:

    The team will prioritise working with retail venues to ensure there are processes in place to streamline reporting and evidence gathering, ensuring those venues are aware of the level of detail required to investigate. We will make all attempts to identify suspects and where those are repeat offenders, build cases to work toward the best results from prosecutions. The team will also use all powers under the Antisocial Behaviour Act to deal with those individuals who may be assisting offenders outside of venues.
