About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Violence with a specific focus on Violence Against Women and Girls
S: To reduce violence across the ward of Colville with a specific focus on violence against women and girls
M: Measured by the number of such crimes reported to police.
A: This will be achieved through targeted operations in violence hotspot areas, supported by high-visibility foot and cycle patrols and the strategic use of pulse patrols guided by intelligence-led policing. These measures aim not only to deter offending but also to provide visible reassurance to the community.
R: This issue has been prevalent across Colville, and following working groups with our Ward Panel members and our internal and external partners, it has been identified as an issue of concern to local residents.
T: This will be measured and reviewed at the next meeting (every three months).

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

As part of the Met’s ‘A New Met for London’ vision and commitment to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), officers have been conducting both high-visibility and plain-clothed patrols across the ward to reduce violence-related offences. We will also support Violence Against Women and Girls Community Engagement events across North Kensington and also support the weekly drop in Hub Sessions where members of the public can attend in person to speak to us in confidence. We will also be actively monitoring subjects and targeting subjects who are issued with Domestic Violence Protection Notices (DVPN's) on the ward. Alongside enforcement, we are working closely with local businesses and community partners to strengthen safety measures and build confidence among residents and visitors. This approach reflects our wider strategy to relentlessly pursue offenders, enhance victim support, and restore trust in policing.

To be reviewed at next Ward Panel Meeting on 15th July 2026.

    Actioned 15 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Drugs
S: To reduce drug related offences across the ward of Colville
M: Measured by the number of such crimes reported to police, and relevant intelligence reports received.
A: This can be achieved by intelligence led hotspot-based operations, and by completing warrants targeting addresses that have been linked to using, producing or selling controlled substances. We will also work with partner agencies to close addresses linked to drug misuse.
R: This issue has been prevalent across Colville for a period of time, and following working groups with our Ward Panel members and our internal and external partners, it has been identified as an issue of concern to local residents.
T: This will be measured and reviewed at the next meeting (every three months).

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have been conducting intelligence led patrols in identified hotspot areas to tackle drug-related offences within the ward. The team will continue to review incoming intelligence reports and plan targeted operations aimed at disrupting and reducing drug-related activity. We will also target offenders who commit acquisitive crime against local retailers to fund their drug habits, ensuring robust enforcement and support for affected businesses. Alongside enforcement, we remain committed to safeguarding vulnerable individuals, particularly those at risk of being exploited through ‘cuckooing’, ensuring they receive appropriate support and protection. We are also working to build intelligence to identify addresses linked to drug use and supply and we will seek closure orders for properties that contribute to anti-social behaviour through drug-related activity, while continuing to protect those most at risk.

To be reviewed at next Ward Panel Meeting on 15th July 2026.

    Actioned 15 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Burglary
S: To reduce Burglary offences across the ward of Colville - both residential and non-residential.
M: Measured by the number of such crimes reported to police.
A: This will be achieved through intelligence-led, hotspot-based policing, using gathered intelligence to identify emerging trends in offending. In addition, we will continue to provide crime prevention advice and guidance on target-hardening measures to reduce opportunities for opportunistic offenders
R: This issue is a significant concern for residents across RBKC. Burglary is not only financially damaging but also deeply intrusive, often leaving victims feeling unsafe in their own homes.
T: This will be measured and reviewed at the next meeting (every three months).

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have been conducting high-visibility foot and cycle patrols in intelligence-led hotspot areas. We will continue to promote the use of SelectaDNA, which enables residents to mark their property with a unique DNA kit for added security. This initiative complements our ongoing efforts to provide target-hardening measures and tailored crime prevention advice, all aimed at reducing opportunities for offending and strengthening community safety. Additionally, the team is committed to ensuring that every victim of a burglary offence is contacted directly by us, offering support and guidance to help prevent repeat victimisation.

To be reviewed at next Ward Panel Meeting on 15th July 2026.
