About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Tackle retail theft in Station Road. Increase engagement with business managers utilising a joined up approach.

    Operations organised providing high visibility in and around Station Road.

    Arrest of prolific offenders.

    Crime prevention advice for businesses - OP Retail packs provided, ensure Safer Neighbourhood Team contact information is current.

    Joint visits alongside partners from Local Authority have taken place with future patrols planned.

    Walk and Talk event has been carried out at the venue by ward Inspector and Neighbourhoods Superintendent.

    Business Forum established, further meeting to be scheduled in June/July 2026.

    Cycle operation - St Road.

    Priorities to be discussed at next ward panel.

    Tackle vehicle crime reduction
    Crime prevention engagement, high visibility, intel-led patrols in hot spot areas.

    Action taken:

    Ward officers to distribute crime prevention advice in and around hot spot areas identified.

    PCSOs to conduct reassurance visits and gather intel.

    Policing team to conduct traffic operations to combat.

    Awaits availability/update from Road Danger Reduction Team regarding Community Road Watch initiative.

    WARD PRIORITY THREE:

    Tackle ASB
    Regular patrols to take place at identified locations whereby there has been an increase in ASB calls/incidents. Engagement/education with youths causing ASB along with a robust approach to drugs.

    Issued 02 June 2026

    Action taken:

    Officers to increase patrols in hot spot areas known for ASB. A flexible approach to tackle the issues is required with night shifts authorised and taking place on a monthly basis pending further review.
