About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Theft of Motor Vehicle.

    Issued 14 May 2026

    Action taken:

Theft of Motor Vehicle remains a prevalent crime type in the South of the Borough and it has been agreed to remain a priority.

To combat these issues, the team will analyse the data when offences are committed and dedicate our resources to these areas. We will analyse patterns of offending in order to catch and deter offenders. We will act on intelligence provided by our communities and partners. We will utilise our Met Engage contacts to conduct witness appeals post offences being committed and each victim of crime will receive a visit from the team. We will conduct door to door enquiries to look for further evidence of offences and when there are obvious patterns to offences, these areas will receive an enhanced policing presence.
