About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

    Theft from person

    Targeting Theft in the street occurring in Canonbury, we aim to reduce these further and target those carrying this crime.

    Action taken:

    Carry out high visibility patrols in areas affected by theft – particularly along Essex Road in order to deter would-be offenders. Patrols in area will also build relationships with those who live/work in the area and reassure residents.

    Drugs related ASB

    Engagement and proactive patrols around Essex Road to prevent drug activity. High visibility patrols with regular sweeps to prevent Drug related crime.

    Action taken:

    Carrying out High Visibility patrols based on intelligence. Work with partners utilising Community Crime Officers and Park Guard to extend coverage. Working through the Early Intervention Scheme to ensure that those causing Anti-Social Behaviour are dealt with have the opportunity to be diverted to support required before moving through to enforcement using community notices to stop offending.

    ASB issues specific to Alwyne Villas and environs.

    Action taken:

    High visibility patrols to be conducted in and around the area, joint working with the Local Authority Community Safety Officers to bolster response and offer diversionary services to anyone who may be causing issues. Consideration of full ASB powers for persistent offenders to reduce impact of behaviour on community.
