About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Theft of and from motor vehicles is the ward's highest reported crime which is often linked with burglaries where car keys are taken and the vehicles removed. Some of these incidents have resulted in violence being used by the perpetrators.

    Action taken:

    Victims of offences will be visited and local enquiries conducted for all offences. Crime prevention advice will be offered at community groups, drop in surgeries and via social media. Officers will continue to use Police systems to identify high risk vehicles and use high visibility foot patrols to deter possible offenders.

    Two commercial premises have experienced a rise in shoplifting offences. .

    Action taken:

    Victims of offences will be visited and local enquiries conducted for all offences. Crime prevention advice will be offered at the venues Officers will continue to use Police systems to identify trends, patterns and hot spot areas, and will target these locations with high visibility patrols. Any identified offenders will be prosecuted

    Ward panel has set the priority around the wards open spaces due to concerns around an anticipated rise in anti social behaviour with the advent of the warmer weather
