About us

    Violence

    Reducing Violent Crime as a Pan London objective working in conjunction with local residents and businesses to focus on hotspots areas and identified individuals

    Action taken:

    SNT officers are carrying out high visibility patrols, whilst also regularly carrying out arrest enquiries for high harm offenders.
    SNT officers have worked with Croydon council to safeguard vulnerable females which has involved conditions imposed on males linked to violence to have them removed from Croydon.
    SNT officers have also worked hard alongside partner agencies to improve safety conditions within communal locations of locations which include security doors fixed, lighting increased, joint visits and regular contact with residents.

    There is ongoing concerns regarding shoplifting and linked offences

    Action taken:

    SNT officers have carried out partnership work with stores to improve security. They have also provided training to staff to ensure the best procedure to secure evidence.
    There has been further training provided to officers also in how to secure charges through best practice
    Arrests have been made and convictions obtained against shoplifters with charges for linked offences
    Two prolific shoplifters have received custodial sentences through arrests made by SNT officers

    concern that drug users have been attending the area and causing linked ASB through their conduct

    SNT officers from Addiscombe West have completed the following -
    High visibility patrols have been conducted
    Closure Order being obtained at court
    Eviction of tenant causing ASB and linked to other offences
    Reassurance visits to vulnerable persons
    improved security within blocks of flats such as secured access, improved lighting and conditions imposed on those causing ASB
    Referrals made for those with substance misuse matters
    Arrests made for drug offences
