    Issued 16 September 2025

    Action taken:

Local policing officers have been working hard to combat issues in the Newton area but really need the assistance of the community. Regarding the scrambler bike issue on Newton High Street, HVP has been conducted and CCTV enquiries made but have proved negative due to the riders wearing face coverings. Police Quad bikes have been requested to attend the area when on patrol.
Regarding the Anti-social use of vehicles on Parkside Link Road, a partnership meeting was held to discuss options. LP officers deployed to the area, with our Roads Policing colleagues and their specialist capabilities. The Safer Roads Team attended with the speed van in response to speeding vehicles, No vehicles were found speeding on link way itself but 66 vehicles were sent tickets in the post due to excess speed in the area. Incidents on linkway have reduced.
Regarding Drug dealing in the area, one female has been evicted from her property and officers are currently developing enforcement opportunities.
