About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    ASB:
The community have raised the issue of Anti-Social Behaviour in various locations across the beat including nuisance bikes, loud cars and antisocial young people.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

The NR32 Town North team have continued proactive daytime and evening patrols across areas identified as anti-social behaviour (ASB) hotspots this month, as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the community safe and reassured.

We have also seen an increase in motorbike-related ASB. In response, we are taking firm action against nuisance vehicles; Section 59 warnings are being issued and, where there is clear evidence of persistent ASB, vehicles are being seized. Recently, one individual had their motorbike seized following continued anti-social use.

Perpetrators involved in ASB are also being issued with Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs). Partnership working has continued throughout the month, with the team working closely with local schools and Melton Borough Council to tackle anti-social behaviour and address the issues affecting the community.

We are receiving increased reports of antisocial behaviour taking place in and around Melton Country Park involving youths and adolescents. Visible patrols around the park will be increased and any instances of ASB dealt with robustly.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Drug Activity:
The community have raised the issue of Drug use and dealing on the Melton Town North Beat.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to encourage members of the community to report any information or concerns to us. Your support plays a crucial role in helping us keep the area safe and protect those who live and work within it.

We are actively using stop and search powers where appropriate and where legal grounds are met, as part of our ongoing efforts to tackle drug possession and supply. These proactive measures are aimed at disrupting criminal activity and reducing harm within the community.

Information and intelligence provided by the local community is used directly to support enforcement action by the police and council, leading to warrants being executed and closure orders being placed on properties being used in criminality and causing harm to the local area.

We remain committed to taking robust action against those involved in criminality and will continue to act on the information provided by the public.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Road Safety:
Complaints have been received following vehicles speeding along various routes through the beat - including Nottingham Road, Thorpe Road, Melton Spinney Road, Tennyson Way and Pork Pie Way.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

The NR32 Town North team has continued to proactively address road safety concerns throughout the month. Regular stop checks are being carried out, and any driving offences identified are dealt with appropriately.

Recently, officers have issued a number of Section 59 warnings to drivers found operating their vehicles in an anti-social manner. In addition, several vehicles have been seized after being stopped and found to have no valid insurance or road tax in place.

A significant portion of the new Pork Pie Way runs through the team’s policing area. Officers will be regularly patrolling this route to ensure it is used safely and responsibly.
We rely on your support—your eyes and ears are invaluable.

Please continue to report any suspicious or dangerous driving to the police. Your information helps us take swift and effective action to keep our roads safe.
