Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

ASB in local authority and privately run car parks.
You said: We are aware of continued issues with inconsiderate drivers causing general ASB within local car parks.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

We will: We are working with local security and CCTV operatives to run specific operations to address this issue. We will spend time monitoring the car parks and any misuse will be dealt with as appropriate.

We have been actively working with partners and have been involved in meetings surrounding signage in the impacted car parking areas. We are conducting frequent patrols and liaising with owners and management. Section 59 powers are being utilised where appropriate, including vehicle seizure.

We have completed further patrols and have attended meetings with partners.
We have not had any further reports of ASB within the period but continue to work with partners to ensure our car parks and public spaces are used responsibly.

    Actioned 28 May 2026

  • Priority:

Drug dealing and associated ASB within the town centre beat. You Said: You have raised concerns regarding drug use and the anti-social behaviour associated with this type of criminality.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

We Will: We have received a number of reports relating to issues surrounding drug use in our town centre.

We are looking at enforcement options and working with partners to tackle the issue.
We are aware this is still an issue within the town centre and we are actively working to target this. We have recently conducted a number of warrants at properties associated with drug use and the investigations surrounding these continue. We are also working with partners surrounding longer term resolutions targeting the properties and owners.

Enquiries are being progressed regarding recent warrants completed and we have also completed further enforcement operations at addresses associated with illegal drug use.
The neighbourhood team are dedicated to working with partners to ensure offenders are brought to justice and closures are enforced at offending properties.

    Actioned 28 May 2026

  • Priority:

    School Parking and traffic issues.
You Said: You have raised concerns relating to road safety, specifically surrounding our local primary schools. This includes driving at excess speed for the location, inappropriate road use and dangerous parking.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

We Will: We will complete targeted operations in the areas concerned and look to offer education and enforcement where required.
We will work with partners in enforcement and ensure action is taken where appropriate.

To date we have completed enforcement operations at both All Saints Primary and Broom Leys Primary. As a result a number of parents/carers have been spoken to and provided with advice. A number of tickets have also been issued for those causing repeat or serious hazards.
We have further operations planned to address the issue at other schools across the beat.

During this month we have conducted further checks at Belvoirdale Primary. This has resulted in an offending vehicle being issued a ticket for traffic offences. We are continuing our patrols and work with the primary schools to encourage and enforce safer road use.
