    To support City Centre businesses with retail crime and tackle perpetrators

    -Retail crime effects shopping areas of the City Centre and you would like to see action to tackle this and support our retailers

    *JULY UPDATE*
    WE DID:
    -Conducted tailored retail visits to several business in the City Centre including Boots, Heron Foods and Sports direct. These visits support us to be able to identify repeat offenders, reduced crime and protect our communities.
    -Our PCSO's have conducted some partnership engagement work with BID Leicester to encourage people to the City Centre and support our retail community.
    -PC Dean has been working closely with both the Haymarket and Highcross Shopping Centre to help prevent theft and ASB related issues. This has included utilising out of court disposals and issuing 3 ASB warning letters along 3 banning notices.
    -PCSO Tim has been holding engaging events to support shoppers and retailers at the Highcross and Haymarket Shopping Centres.
    -We continue to tackle repeat offenders and aim to place strict control measures on them with a further 6 Criminal Behaviour Orders being prepared for court.

    -You want to enjoy the Town Hall Square, Granby Street, Belvior and surrounding area but ASB caused by people and vehicles prevents this

    *JULY UPDATE*
    WE DID:
    -Our designing out crime team have conducted a survey of the Town Hall Square and surrounding area. This will allow us to identify solutions and improvements that Police and partners can implement to prevent and deter crime and ASB.
    -Working with our Police cadets the beat team have competed a litter sweep of the area to help improve the area and promote the use to our community.
    -Robust policing has been conducted in the area of Town Hall Square resulting in an increase of stop searches, arrests, positive disposals and drugs seizures.
    -The beat team continually patrol the area and spend time conducting engagements and operations to tackle anti-social behaviour and drug related crime. From community feedback and visible patrols we have seen a significant decrease in the area.

    To tackle vehicle related crime and anti-social behaviour in the City Centre

    YOU SAID:
    -You want to visit the City Centre and not experience vehicle anti-social behaviour. You are concerned about motor vehicles committing driving offences and causing parking issues in the City Centre.

    *JULY UPDATE*
    WE DID:
    -Operation Pedalfast continues to tackle the illegal use of e-scooters and non EAPC compliant e-bikes throughout the City Centre. We have currently seized 884 of these vehicles.
    -We have been tackling vehicles driving in an anti-social manner around the area of Granby Street and Town Hall Square. We have seized 5 vehicles including cars and motorbikes for a range of reasons including driving without insurance and driving in an anti-social manner.
    -We have conducted 5 Bike Register events this month. Bike Register helps police quickly identify recovered bikes and return them to their rightful owners. Its visible security markings also deter thieves and support investigations into cycle theft and associated offenders. Look at our website for our upcoming dates.
