Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Crimes of burglary from dwelling through the rural villages beat.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Throughout the next 3 months we will be running our darker nights campaign. Raising awareness of the need to ensure that timers are used and we will be holding several crime prevention events to provide advise and offer crime prevention equipment. Additional patrols will be completed in hot spot areas at key times of the night and where offences occur, we will ensure that the beat team personally visits the location to maximise opportunities for identifying offenders.

    Actioned 01 November 2026

  • Priority:

There has been an increase in e-scooters being used, predominantly in the areas of Groby, Ratby and Desford. This is causing alarm to residents in these areas.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Reports received of a group of youths riding e-bikes in an anti-social manner, swerving towards vehicles and causing distress to other road users. High-visibility patrols were
conducted in the area and enquiries made to identify those responsible. Officers have provided reassurance to residents and road users, and intelligence has been submitted
to support ongoing enquiries. Residents have been encouraged to report further incidents and provide any available CCTV or dashcam footage. Targeted patrols will continue to deter this behaviour and identify offenders to improve safety within the community.

    Actioned 01 November 2026

  • Priority:

Hare Coursing in the rural parts of the beat, due to darker nights this becomes more frequent

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

We will reduce incidents of hare coursing across the Rural Villages Beat through high-visibility patrols in hotspot locations during peak offending periods, particularly throughout the darker months. Work closely with the Rural Crime Team, local farmers, landowners and partner agencies to gather intelligence, disrupt offenders, increase public reporting of suspicious activity, and raise awareness of rural crime to prevent offences and reassure rural communities.

    Actioned 01 November 2026
