About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    High-Visibility Patrols Increase presence in hotspot areas (car parks, residential streets) to deter offenders and reassure the public.
    Targeted Engagement Speak with vehicle owners, distribute crime prevention advice (e.g., removing valuables, locking vehicles, using steering locks).
    Intelligence Gathering- Record patterns, times, and locations of offences; identify repeat locations and share intelligence with CID and crime analysts.
    Use Powers Under ASB and Crime Legislation Issue Dispersal Orders under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 if groups are congregating near vehicles.
    Consider CPNs for persistent offenders linked to vehicle-related ASB.
    Partnership Working - Work with local councils, CCTV operators, and neighbourhood watch to improve surveillance and reporting.
    Community Reassurance & Comms -
    Push out messages via social media, local radio, and community meetings to raise awareness and encourage reporting.
    Proactive Checks - Conduct stop/search where grounds exist, check suspicious vehicles, and monitor known offenders

    We have checked the systems and seen an increased report in the stated areas of ASB;
    High-Visibility Patrols: Regular foot and vehicle patrols in hotspot areas to deter anti-social behaviour (ASB) and street drinking.
    Engagement and Education: Speak with individuals and groups to explain local by-laws and the impact of ASB on the community.
    Enforcement of Legislation: Use powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to issue Community Protection Notices (CPNs), dispersal orders, and other relevant interventions
    Partnership Working: Liaise with local councils, community safety teams, and outreach services to address underlying issues such as addiction or homelessness.
    Intelligence Gathering: Record incidents, identify repeat offenders, and share information with relevant agencies for targeted interventions.
    Community Reassurance: Provide updates to residents and businesses, showing visible action to reduce ASB and improve public confidence.

    Drug dealing/cuckooing has become apparent on the area and officers need to remain vigilant. Collate as much intel as possible in known problem areas, to apply for warrants. Ensure that communication is kept open with the local Neighbourhood Priority Team to ensure we are working together to tackle the drug related issues in the area.
