About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Motorcycle Anti-social Behaviour

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

We are committed to working closely with our partner agencies to tackle the issue of motorcycle antisocial behaviour across South Ribble.

We work with the Community Safety Partnership of South Ribble Council who have set up an initiative working with the force to help tackle motorcycle and e-bike nuisance across the borough.

Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams also carry out home visits to the addresses where the motorbikes are kept. We engage with the public and share good news stories on social media.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Road Safety

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

You will see our officers out around South Ribble targeting specific areas that have been raised by members of the public as having road safety concerns. Officers will be conducting speed checks and will issue penalty points and take positive action as required. This is an ongoing Operation as new locations are often brought to our attention.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Business Crime

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Operation Vulture sees officers working closely with businesses to prevent crime and to identify and target offenders. This has resulted in numerous of our prolific offenders being issued with Civil Orders upon prosecution. These run side by side prosecutions and make it more difficult for the offender to re-offend.

Winter of Action sees our officers tackle those areas which have been highlighted as areas that have high anti-social behaviour issues. This includes both high visibility patrols, targeted operations and the use of civil orders for those involved in ASB in the area.

Lots of our activity is published on our Facebook channels. We welcome you to get involved in the public survey Lancashire Talking so you can inform us about local issues, then we can send information specific to the area you live/work. Want to have your say?
