    Drug Dealing

    Drugs
    Wyre NHPT are proactive in their targeting of drug related activity.

    We tackle all drug related activity head on in Wyre and deal robustly with those involved.

    Since the start of 2023 we have seized:

    * £7.4 million pounds worth of drugs
    * taken over £375,000 in cash off Organised Crime Groups
    * made over 250 arrests of high risk offenders and people linked to drug supply who have received over 121 years worth of prison sentences.

    We have civil orders at our disposal and this has also led to a number of properties in the Wyre area that have been at the centre of ASB, crime and drug related activity becoming subject to closure orders.

    We will continue to tackle drugs use at all levels and work with local and national partners to provide support, guidance and education around drug use.

    ASB
    Antisocial behaviour is defined as 'behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person' (Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

    There are three main categories for antisocial behaviour, depending on how many people are affected:

    * Personal antisocial behaviour is when a person targets a specific individual or group.
    * Nuisance antisocial behaviour is when a person causes trouble, annoyance or suffering to a community.
    * Environmental antisocial behaviour is when a person’s actions affect the wider environment, such as public spaces or buildings.

    Op Centurion is Lancashire Police’s answer to dealing with ASB, which sees dedicated patrols in identified areas across Wyre. Specialist antisocial behaviour (ASB) cars are regularly tasked in the Wyre area, including Mount Ward.

    Identified hotspots or repeat areas are also discussed with partners at youth, adult and place based ASB meetings.

    Wyre NHPT have also made great use of civil orders of late to deal with ASB. Across the Wyre area, this has included Community Protection Warnings, Community Protection Notices, Civil Injunctions, Criminal Behaviour Orders and even Closure Orders at properties causing and linked to ASB and Crime.

    Wyre has also seen a steady decline in ASB reported incidents.

    Burglary

    We are very aware burglary can have a significant impact on victims, both financially and emotionally. As well as losing items of value, some of which could be personal or irreplaceable, victims may feel a violation of security and distress that someone unknown has been in their home.

    Op Defender is the forcewide name given to tackling residential burglaries in Lancashire and sets out specific expectations for officers. Op Defender equips officers with targeted and proactive patrol plans and seeks to prevent crime from happening in the first place so we can effectively safeguard our residents. As well as prevention, this campaign is about ensuring the best possible response for burglary victims and continuing to ensure our victims feel and are supported throughout the investigation.

    The last 3 years has also seen a steady decline in reported burglary offences across Wyre.
