About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Vehicle Crime – A Key Concern for Wyre Residents

Many residents across Wyre have told us that vehicle crime is a major worry. Theft from vehicles, stolen cars, and criminal damage can cause significant frustration, inconvenience, and financial impact. We want you to know that we hear these concerns and are taking them seriously.
What we’re doing to tackle the issue

    • We carry out targeted patrols in areas where vehicle crime is more common.
    • We work closely with partner agencies to share intelligence and disrupt those involved.
    • We make use of technology and run proactive operations to identify offenders and take action.
    • We engage with the community to share crime prevention advice and help stop offences before they happen.

    How you can help

    • Always lock your vehicle and remove valuables, even if you’re only leaving it for a moment.
    • Whenever possible, park in well lit areas or secure car parks.
    • Report any suspicious behaviour or incidents through:
    Single Online Home: https://www.lancashire.police.uk
    101 for non emergencies
    999 in an emergency

Provide clear details such as time, location, descriptions of individuals, and vehicle registration numbers.
Vehicle crime doesn’t just inconvenience individuals — it affects people’s livelihoods and confidence in their community. By working together and reporting concerns, we can make Wyre a safer place for everyone.
If you have information or ongoing concerns, please speak to your local neighbourhood officers or report it online.

Together, we can help reduce vehicle crime across Wyre.

    Road Safety

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

    Keeping Wyre’s Roads Safe

Making our roads safer for everyone is a key focus for the Wyre Neighbourhood Policing Team. We’re working hard to tackle behaviours that put lives at risk, and your support plays a big part in that.
    Speeding

If speeding is an issue where you live, you can report it online through the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership. When concerns are raised, we may carry out Community Road Watch sessions or run targeted speed enforcement in problem areas.
    School Drop-Off and Pick-Up

We understand how worrying unsafe driving and parking outside schools can be for parents and local residents. Our officers regularly visit schools to promote safe behaviour, share advice through schools and social media, and work closely with Wyre Borough Council’s Parking Enforcement team to deal with persistent problems.
    Anti-Social Driving & Drink/Drug Driving

Dangerous or irresponsible driving has no place on our roads. We continue to carry out focused patrols and enforcement operations to keep our communities protected.
    How You Can Help

If you see dangerous driving or parking, please report it via the Lancashire Police website or speak directly with your local neighbourhood officers.

Together, we can help make Wyre’s roads safer for everyone.
