About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers participated in a joint speeding enforcement operation on 11 September 2026 in Tonbridge High Street and surrounding areas. The operation resulted in a number of Traffic Offence Reports being issued for various traffic offences, contributing to ongoing efforts to improve driver behaviour and road safety.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/E-bikes.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers remain aware of ongoing concerns relating to the unlawful use of e-scooters and e-bikes. Enforcement can be challenging due to riders leaving the area when challenged by police. Despite this, officers continue to patrol hotspot locations and seek opportunities to engage with riders, gather intelligence, and take appropriate action where offences are identified.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Drink/drug driving.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to proactively monitor for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Officers have continued to stop vehicles during patrols, particularly on late shifts, to assess driver fitness and identify any concerns relating to impairment. They will check for both alcohol and drug related activity and deal with any offending in a positive manner given the significant consequences from drink/drug driving.

    Actioned 30 September 2026
