About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

    Drug taking.

    Issued 15 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are aware of concerns about drug use in the Lower Church Street area near St Stephen's Church and have carried out targeted patrols in response. These patrols help provide reassurance to residents and identify any criminal activity. Information from the public remains important in helping officers take action, and residents are encouraged to continue reporting concerns so that enquiries can be progressed and appropriate action taken.
