About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Drug use.

    Action taken:

    Officers have carried out ongoing patrols in areas where concerns about drug use have been raised. This activity has resulted in several people being dealt with for drug possession through out-of-court disposals, which are measures that allow offences to be dealt with without going to court while still holding individuals accountable for their actions. Officers have also brought charges against individuals for more serious offences, including possession with intent to supply drugs, where there is evidence that drugs were intended to be sold or distributed. Patrols and enforcement activity continue to help deter offending, identify those involved in criminal activity and improve community safety.

    Action taken:

    Officers have carried out targeted patrols in response to concerns about unsafe and inconsiderate parking. During these patrols, officers have spoken with drivers whose vehicles were parked in positions that could create risks or cause obstruction, providing advice and encouraging safer parking. Officers are also working with the local council on measures to improve the situation, including the introduction of additional signs and road markings. The issue continues to be monitored so that concerns can be reviewed, patterns identified and appropriate action taken where needed.

    Antisocial behaviour.

    Action taken:

    Officers worked with partner organisations to address antisocial behaviour linked to a caravan that was causing concern within the local area. This included engagement with those involved, joint working with relevant agencies and the issuing of a Community Protection Warning. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given to someone whose behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community and may lead to further action if the behaviour continues. Since these measures were put in place, no further reports of antisocial behaviour linked to this issue have been received.
