    Action taken:

    Following concerns raised by residents, officers have carried out high-visibility patrols, speed checks and speed monitoring at locations where road safety issues have been reported. Officers have engaged with drivers to promote safe and responsible road use and worked with local partners to address concerns about speeding and dangerous driving. Information gathered from residents and patrol activity has helped identify problem areas and support enforcement action where needed. This has included issuing Section 59 warnings to drivers involved in the antisocial use of vehicles. A Section 59 warning can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others. If the behaviour continues, the vehicle may be seized by police. Officers will continue to focus patrols and enforcement activity on key routes and known hotspot locations to improve road safety and provide reassurance to the community.

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Action taken:

    High-visibility patrols have been carried out in areas identified as hotspots for nuisance motorcycle activity. Officers have engaged with riders, gathered intelligence from residents, and conducted targeted patrols to deter antisocial behaviour. Reports of nuisance riding have been monitored and information shared with relevant policing teams to support enforcement opportunities. Where appropriate, warning letters and other preventative measures can be used to address offending behaviour, with ongoing patrols focused on providing reassurance to the community and reducing the impact of nuisance motorcycles within Sandwich Ward.

    Action taken:

    Officers work closely with local residents, businesses and partner organisations to identify and address concerns about antisocial behaviour. Information from the community helps officers understand emerging issues and focus activity where it is most needed. Officers carry out targeted patrols at locations and times where problems have been reported, speak with those involved and, where appropriate, provide advice or issue warnings to encourage positive behaviour. Regular monitoring of incidents and a visible policing presence help reduce opportunities for antisocial behaviour, provide reassurance to residents and support community safety across the area.
