About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

    Road safety.

    Action taken:

    The local officer continues to support road safety across the area by carrying out regular speed checks at locations where concerns have been raised by residents or where speeding has been identified as an ongoing issue. Using local knowledge of the road network, enforcement activity is targeted at areas where it can have the greatest impact on reducing risk. Drivers found exceeding the speed limit may face enforcement action, including prosecution, or be offered educational courses to help them understand the dangers of speeding and its impact on other road users. This ongoing work aims to make roads safer for everyone who lives, works and travels through the area.

    Officers work closely with local authorities and partner agencies to address reports of dog fouling and help keep public spaces clean and safe for everyone. While responsibility for enforcement usually sits with the local council, information from residents helps identify problem areas and supports targeted action where needed. Members of the public are encouraged to report incidents of dog fouling to the appropriate authority, as this helps ensure issues are investigated.

    Officers continue to work with local authorities and partner agencies to address reports of highway obstructions and the impact they can have on road safety and access for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. Concerns reported by residents help identify problem locations and support action where needed. Members of the public are encouraged to report highway obstructions to the appropriate authority so that they can be assessed and dealt with by the organisation responsible. Timely reporting helps ensure issues are resolved as quickly as possible and supports ongoing efforts to keep roads and pathways safe and accessible for everyone.
