About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to carry out proactive patrols in areas where concerns have been raised about speeding and antisocial driving. Drivers found committing offences are dealt with appropriately, while others may be given advice to encourage safer and more responsible driving. This ongoing enforcement activity helps improve road safety, reduce dangerous driving and respond to concerns raised by local residents.

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers regularly patrol known hotspot locations for the use of illegal and nuisance motorcycles. Offenders were identified on 2 occasions, resulting in brief pursuits; however, those involved were not apprehended. Work to identify and prosecute offenders remains ongoing through intelligence gathering and partnership working.

To support enforcement efforts, media appeals have also been issued to local residents, encouraging the submission of information, photographs, video footage, and other evidence that may assist officers in identifying those responsible and taking appropriate action.
