Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Action taken:

During the summer months, officers carried out additional patrols in areas where antisocial behaviour had been reported, including public spaces where large groups were gathering. Activity also focused on concerns about the misuse of e-scooters and motorbikes, with officers providing a visible presence and taking action where appropriate.

To help prevent further disruption, officers used dispersal powers at key times. A dispersal order allows police to require individuals to leave an area for a specified period if their behaviour is causing, or is likely to cause, antisocial behaviour. These powers were used to reduce large gatherings and help prevent further incidents.

Where necessary, officers confiscated alcohol from people under the age of 18 and removed items linked to antisocial behaviour, such as portable speakers. Groups involved in antisocial behaviour were directed to leave the area.

Officers continue to work closely with partner organisations and local councillors to identify longer-term solutions. This includes exploring environmental improvements to make locations less attractive for large gatherings and reduce the likelihood of future problems.

Action taken:

During the summer months, officers carried out targeted activity to address large gatherings and antisocial behaviour in public areas. This included using dispersal orders at key times to help prevent disruption and reduce the impact on local communities.

A dispersal order gives police the power to direct a person to leave a specific area if their behaviour is causing, or is likely to cause, antisocial behaviour. The individual can be told not to return for a set period of time, helping to prevent further disruption and protect local residents, businesses and visitors. These powers were used to help prevent large gatherings and reduce repeated incidents.

Enforcement activity resulted in the seizure of items linked to antisocial behaviour, including music equipment, and officers took action to prevent groups from returning to locations where disruption had occurred.

Individuals who were repeatedly identified as being involved in antisocial behaviour were issued with Community Protection Warnings. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning that can be issued when someone's behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community. If the behaviour continues, further action can be taken, including the issuing of a Community Protection Notice.

We will continue to work with partner organisations and local communities to address antisocial behaviour and help keep public spaces safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Road safety issues.

Action taken:

Officers regularly carry out speed checks and work closely with Community Speedwatch volunteers to identify locations where speeding is reported.

As part of ongoing road safety activity, officers patrol areas where concerns have been raised and take action against drivers who break the law. This has resulted in a number of uninsured vehicles being seized and removed from the road.

Officers have also issued Traffic Offence Reports to motorists committing road traffic offences. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal notice issued when a driver is suspected of committing a road traffic offence and may result in further action, such as a fine, penalty points or prosecution.

We will continue to work with local communities and road safety partners to address speeding concerns and improve safety for all road users.
