    Local neighbourhood officers have carried out regular foot patrols in the Harbour area throughout the summer to help reduce alcohol-related issues and provide a visible presence in the community. The summer months are typically a busier time, with more people visiting the area and a greater demand for policing services. Officers have also worked with the local council to carry out licensing checks at pubs, bars and other licensed premises to help ensure they are meeting their legal responsibilities. Regular patrols help to prevent and deter offences often linked to alcohol consumption, such as criminal damage and assaults. Police will continue to work closely with local businesses and partner organisations to help keep the Harbour area safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

    Action taken:

    Local neighbourhood officers regularly patrol the Harbour area to deter drug-related activity and provide a visible presence within the community. As part of this work, officers carry out stop searches where there are reasonable grounds to suspect someone may be carrying illegal drugs. These searches have led to the seizure of drugs, and those found in possession have been dealt with through the appropriate criminal justice processes. Officers will continue to carry out regular patrols and targeted enforcement activity to tackle drug-related offending and help keep the area safe for residents, businesses and visitors.
