About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Nuisance vehicles.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to tackle the illegal use of e-bikes and other nuisance vehicles in Edenbridge through targeted patrols and enforcement activity. Recent patrols have resulted in 2 e-scooters being seized after they were found to be posing a risk to other road users. Officers are also investigating reports of off-road bikes being ridden on public roads and are working closely with local residents and the district council's CCTV team to identify those responsible and gather evidence.

Where offenders are identified, appropriate action will be taken, including the use of antisocial behaviour powers, road traffic legislation and vehicle seizures where necessary. Through ongoing patrols, intelligence gathering and partnership working, officers continue to address nuisance vehicle use, improve road safety and reduce the impact on the local community. Residents are encouraged to report incidents and share information, as this helps officers identify offenders, prevent further incidents and take positive action.

  • Priority:

    Nuisance antisocial behaviour.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Addressing antisocial behaviour linked to trespassing remains a priority for local officers. Officers continue to work closely with partner organisations and landowners to identify problem locations, improve site security and prevent antisocial behaviour from occurring. A recent partnership approach at a disused site has resulted in significant improvements to security, helping to reduce incidents of trespassing and associated antisocial behaviour.

Officers will continue to monitor locations where concerns have been raised, carry out targeted patrols and take action where necessary. Through ongoing partnership working, problem-solving and community engagement, officers continue to address antisocial behaviour, reduce opportunities for offending and improve the quality of life for local residents.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to address road safety concerns in Edenbridge through targeted patrols and enforcement activity. Several speed enforcement operations have been carried out in response to concerns raised by residents, resulting in a number of drivers being stopped for road traffic offences. Officers will continue to conduct patrols and enforcement activity at locations identified through community concerns and local intelligence to improve road safety and reduce offending on local roads.

Further speed enforcement activity is planned, and residents are encouraged to report dangerous, antisocial or inconsiderate driving. Information provided by the community helps officers identify problem locations and direct patrols where they are needed most. Concerns relating to parking enforcement should generally be reported to the local authority unless a vehicle is causing a dangerous obstruction or presents an immediate risk to other road users.
