About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Antisocial behaviour.

    Action taken:

    Antisocial behaviour remains a priority for local officers, who continue to carry out targeted patrols and enforcement activity in response to concerns raised by residents. Officers work proactively to identify those responsible, take action where appropriate and prevent problems from escalating. This has included the use of Community Protection Warnings and Community Protection Notices. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given to someone whose behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. If the behaviour continues, a Community Protection Notice can be issued, which sets legal requirements for that person to stop the behaviour. Failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice can lead to further enforcement action. Officers will continue to monitor areas of concern, respond to reports from residents and work to reduce the impact of antisocial behaviour on the local community.

    Tackling reports of nuisance behaviour and environmental concerns.

    Action taken:

    Officers work closely with local partners to address environmental issues that can have a negative impact on communities and attract antisocial behaviour. This includes working with housing providers to help ensure properties remain secure and are not used for criminal activity, antisocial behaviour or other nuisance issues. Officers also maintain strong relationships with local businesses, encouraging the reporting of concerns such as fly-tipping and sharing information with partner agencies where appropriate. This joint approach helps identify problems early, support enforcement action and improve the safety and appearance of the local area.

    Nuisance vehicles.

    Action taken:

    Addressing concerns about nuisance vehicles remains a priority for local officers, particularly in areas where problems have been reported by residents. Officers carry out targeted patrols and enforcement activity to deter the antisocial use of vehicles, identify those responsible and provide reassurance to the community. Information provided by residents helps officers focus their activity on hotspot locations and support intelligence-led operations. Where offences are identified, officers can use enforcement powers to seize vehicles and take action against drivers and riders who break the law. Officers will continue to work with local communities to tackle nuisance vehicle use, improve road safety and reduce the impact this behaviour has on residents.
