About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Officers are aware of concerns about speeding in the area and continue to monitor locations where issues have been reported.

    Speed checks have been carried out by Community Speedwatch volunteers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to help reduce speeding and improve road safety. Information gathered through these checks helps identify problem locations and supports targeted enforcement and education activity where needed.

    We will continue to work with local communities and road safety partners to address concerns and encourage safer driving across the area.

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Action taken:

    There have been reports of nuisance motorbike activity in the area. In response, officers have carried out high-visibility patrols in locations where concerns have been raised and are working to identify those responsible.

    Patrols and local information help officers understand where the motorcycles are being used and stored, allowing targeted action to be taken against riders who are using them illegally or in an antisocial manner.

    We will continue to monitor reports, gather information and take appropriate enforcement action where offences are identified.

    E-scooters/E-bikes.

    Action taken:

    Officers are aware of concerns about the use of e-scooters and e-bikes in the area and have been carrying out high-visibility patrols in locations where issues have been reported.

    Patrols provide opportunities for officers to speak with riders, offer advice about the law and take action where offences are identified. Privately owned e-scooters cannot currently be used on public roads, cycle lanes or pavements, and those found using them illegally may have their e-scooter seized.

    We will continue to monitor reports and carry out targeted activity to help improve safety and reduce nuisance within the community.
