    Nuisance youths.

    Action taken:

    As we move into the summer months, officers have increased foot patrols in areas where young people are known to gather. It is encouraging to see young people making use of the area's outdoor spaces during the warmer weather, and officers are working to ensure these locations remain safe and enjoyable for everyone. Particular attention has been given to the fishing shelter at Radnor Park fishing pond and the alleyways leading from Broadmead to The Three Hills, which have been identified as locations where concerns have been raised. Officers, including the Neighbourhood Task Team, have been carrying out regular patrols in these areas to provide reassurance, engage with young people and respond to any issues that arise. Any antisocial behaviour identified is dealt with appropriately to help ensure community spaces can be enjoyed safely and respectfully by all residents and visitors.

    Shoplifting.

    Action taken:

    Officers have been carrying out regular patrols at the Park Farm retail area and Morrisons on Cheriton Road to support businesses and tackle shoplifting. As part of this work, the Victim Crime Team has been working to secure charges and other positive outcomes against those responsible for thefts from local shops. A Community Protection Notice (CPN) has also been issued to a repeat offender. A CPN is a legal notice used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the community. In this case, it includes conditions preventing the individual from entering the area to help reduce further offending and support local businesses. The local neighbourhood team and Neighbourhood Task Team will continue to carry out high-visibility patrols and work closely with partner agencies to ensure retail areas remain safe, welcoming and accessible for staff, customers and visitors.

    Action taken:

    Parking around local schools during busy periods continues to be monitored to help keep children and other road users safe. Where necessary, officers have spoken with drivers and issued warnings to those causing obstructions or parking irresponsibly. Concerns about e-scooters also remain a regular topic, particularly among young people. Officers continue to provide advice and education about the law, including that privately owned e-scooters cannot currently be used legally on public roads, pavements or other public spaces, and may be seized if used unlawfully. Local neighbourhood officers also carry out regular road safety operations, which target key locations across the Folkestone area where concerns have been raised. During these operations, officers take action against drivers committing offences and, where appropriate, vehicles may be seized to prevent further offending and improve safety for the wider community.
